Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) has released a new update, ASU 2018-16, which will allow companies to use SOFR OIS as an acceptable hedge accounting benchmark for U.S. GAAP. Unlike LIBOR, which relies on judgement, SOFR OIS will be based on repurchase agreements.
