Hedge Trackers to Speak, Exhibit at AFP 2015

Hedge Trackers, a premier provider of foreign currency, interest rate and commodity hedge program management solutions for U.S. companies, has announced it will lead two speaking sessions at the 2015 AFP Annual Conference, Oct. 18-21, 2015 in Denver, Colorado. In addition to speaking, the company will offer hands-on demonstrations of its Capella Foreign Currency hedge accounting software in booth 1026.

  • “Going International. What I Wish I Knew,” slated for 8:30 a.m. on Monday, October 19.

During this session, Jim Shepard, director of client services at Hedge Trackers, and Antonio Siytangco, senior treasury manager of VMware, Inc. will discuss the process that VMware went through – in partnership with Hedge Trackers – when the company wanted to know what its international growth would do to its bottom line. Attendees will learn how to account for foreign currency’s business impact from the beginning of international operations.

  • “Balance Sheet Hedge Programs,” slated for 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19.

During this session, Helen Kane, president and founder of Hedge Trackers, and Meena Srinivasan, VP, Finance and HR at Fitbit, will provide insight on how Fitbit has managed its international growth, which collided with currency volatility in Q4 2015. Srinivasan will discuss how the company decided it was time for the two-person treasury team to add currency risk management to their urgent and important list. In this session, Fitbit will review key learnings from implementing their balance sheet hedge program and also discuss the challenges of daily rates; the battle to keep the accounting for currency transactions from undermining the hedge program; and their management reporting on program effectiveness.

“The AFP Annual Conference provides us with an opportunity to talk with and learn from our finance and financial tech peers as well as with an opportunity to share our own expertise in hedge program management, accounting and reporting,” said Kane. “This year, we’re looking forward to sharing that expertise in two sessions, both of which have been purposefully designed so that attendees can walk away with a better understanding of how hedging can be – and should be – part of any company’s international growth plan. We are thrilled that we’ll be able to share these sessions with two Hedge Trackers clients, VMware and Fitbit, and look forward to some lively discussions.”

During the conference, Hedge Trackers will set up in booth 1026 and provide scheduled demonstrations of Capella Foreign Currency (CapellaFX) hedge accounting software, as well as information about the company’s consulting, outsourcing and training services. In addition, Kane will be available for meetings and for briefings with the media.
