Hedge Trackers, a premier provider of hedge program and risk management solutions for foreign currency, interest rate and commodity risk, has raised over $11,000 to support the families and community of Paradise, California who were victims of a camp fire in Butte County.
Hedge Trackers made the donation via the American Red Cross, LDS Humanitarian Fund, North Valley Community Foundation Camp Fire Relief, the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, and the California Fire Foundation.
When news of the fire broke – along with news stories of the difficulties in containing it — Hedge Trackers employees rallied to contribute funds to support families affected. To further their individual impact, Helen Kane, Hedge Trackers founder, CEO, tripled the employees’ collective contribution.
“At one point, we would look out our office in San Jose and we could see the smoke cover,” said Kane. “We knew we need to do our part to help the community of Paradise and its families. Since Hedge Trackers’ inception, giving back to the community has been a core tenet of our company values. We felt it was our duty to do our small part in helping the community and families to rebuild after their devastating losses.”
Hedge Trackers’ office is located approximately 200 miles south of Paradise where the fire ignited. An estimated 153,336 acres of land were consumed, and officials deemed the fire the most destructive in state history.
