AFP 2016 Recap: Capella Interest Rate & More

This month’s AFP Annual Conference in Orlando delivered admirably on its promise to deliver insights and provoke thought in the Treasury and Finance communities.

The event, which featured more than 130 sessions and speakers ranging from authors to astronauts, attracted professionals from across the nation and the world. Particular topics covered included handling international political and market instability, the impact of big data on Finance and cybersecurity.

For Hedge Trackers in particular, AFP 2016 was highlighted by the launch of Capella Interest Rate, a next-generation application for the management of interest rate risk. The SaaS solution provides accurate, near-instantaneous valuations of even the most complex instruments, in addition to accounting support for cash flow hedges. It is the second member of the Capella family, following in the footsteps of Capella Foreign Currency hedge accounting software.

Also at AFP, Hedge Trackers Director, Client Services, Sandra Koch presented “Currency Volatility and Hedging: How to Protect the Margins” with two senior-level representatives from Jabil Circuit, Inc. Koch teamed with Jabil Senior Vice President & Corporate Treasurer Sergio A Cadavid and Director, Treasury, Brian Wszolek to teach an engaged audience how the $18.4 billion electronics manufacturing services provider has managed its global FX risk and protected margin.
